　　《灵魂摆渡·南洋传说》讲述了夏冬青与灵魂摆渡人赵吏一同帮助因有心事未了而停留人间的灵魂，他们的故事。外表看起来没有任何存在感的夏冬青，有一个不为人知的秘密，他有双特别的眼睛。他可以看到另一个世界的众生，俗称的阴阳眼，并且与他们沟通。这秘密带给了夏冬青不少麻烦。
　　自幼在孤儿院长大的他大学刚毕业，正在准备考研，此时四处求职打工。随后，被一间24小时营业的便利店，名为444号便利店录取。毫无头绪的夏冬青，完全不知444号便利店正是两个不同纬度空间上的连接点。换句话来说，它是一间“灵魂驿站”。便利店的管理者是在冥界担任公务员的赵吏，所谓的灵魂摆渡人。赵吏一人驻守了便利店500年，每天迎来送往，指引鬼魂们去往应该去的世界。夏冬青的到来，让他不再一人行事。在一次意外中，夏冬青帮助了一位名为奥利维亚的灵魂回到了自己的身体。醒来的她，成为了便利店的常客，他的朋友。区别于拥有超能力的夏冬青和本来就是非人的赵吏，奥利维亚以一个普通女孩的身份，从此参与了夏冬青和赵吏的冒险，一同帮助因有心事未了而滞留人间的灵魂的故事。
