耐冬（叶童 饰）和丈夫雷先生（张国柱 饰）住在大屿山的一幢大屋，岂料一日雷先生竟因欠债离家出走，撇下耐冬一人守在这幢也即将抵债的大屋里。 政府执达吏（陈友 饰）派了护卫李度（钟镇涛 饰）负责入住雷家，监视耐冬的一举一动谨防她逃走。对于李度这个“入侵者”，耐冬有怕也有厌恶 ，起初对他很抵触。李度性格温和，处处忍让，耐冬也在日日的接触摩擦中对这个护卫退去了敌视。直到一天，大屋遭遇劫匪，李度保全了大屋和耐冬，耐冬由此对他心存感激，二人间的关系发生了突变，甚至在耐冬父母来探望时扮起了夫妻。然而，耐冬的丈夫突然回来，李度的监护日期也将到期…… 《表错七日情》在1983年获第三届香港电影金像奖最佳编剧奖、最佳女演员奖。
