《漂亮的村事》取材自浙江省金华市武义县后陈村的“后陈经验”，围绕成立村务监督委员会而引发的一场农村民主管理制度改革地震。故事中女主角郝亮萍长得端庄美丽，她仗义直言，爱打抱不平，人送外号“漂亮”。村民上访状告女主角公公陈有福时，牵涉出贪腐农用征地补偿款。在这件农村贪污案件中，漂亮要与村委贿选、沙场承包、茶园流转、征地矛盾中的徇私舞弊行为做斗争。
